A hearty thank you to visitor and volunteer, Morry Secrest, whose skillful approach to deciphering our new digital planetary scanner allowed him to learn ways we can use the scanner that we did not realize previously. He composed a basic guideline for us to work from and identified issues we will follow-up on during later training sessions with the vendor. Thank you, Morry!

Bhagavan Das
Mabel Collins was a prolific writer Bhagavan Das joined the Theosophical Society in 1894, after hearing a speech given by Annie Besant. He was a distinguished scholar and served the Theosophical Society in many ways including as General Secretary of the Indian Section. He joined the faculty of the Central Hindu College in 1898, the year of the school's founding by Annie Besant. In alignment with Mahatma Gandhi's non-cooperation movement for Indian freedom in 1921, he worked among others to found the first national university formed by Indians with the objective of enrichment of Hindi as a national language, support of Indian socialism and nationalism, equality of all religions and commitment to democracy. In 1955, Dr. Bhagavan Das was awarded the Bharat Ratna, also called the gem of India, the Republic's highest civilian award for his achievements in literature and education. His Essential Unity of All Religions was the first book issued under the Quest Books imprint by the Theosophical Publishing House. It is considered a classic work, one that explores the common elements underscoring a variety of religions. Others of his more widely popular titles are available online:
